Opened in April 2001 this course at Vista Vallarta is a signature by Jack Nicklaus. This visually stunning 18 hole course is quickly becoming one of the favorites for its fresh mountain breezes and challenging design. The foothill setting affords a magnificent view of the bay and of Puerto Vallarta, with the Sierra Madre Mountains as a stunning backdrop. The 18th signature finishing hole, par 4, speaks for itself. The elevated tee provides a spectacular view and demanding shot. Play it to the right center of fairway, and then be looking at an even more challenging approach. The course has a rise that guards the back left pin location. A par on this historic finishing hole is one to remember.

Opened in 2001, provides a dramatic contrast from it´s first course, this course is a beautiful compliment to the Nicklaus track. Number 13 is a spectacular par 3 that plays over a deep cavernous ravine. Bunkers surround the narrow green on all sides. The only option is to hit one on-line and solid. The green elevation changes by three meters. Therefore placing an emphasis on the speed of the putt. A par is an exceptional score and sets up a great finishing sequence.

The stunning 18-hole championship-style golf course at El Tamarindo is set amidst a 2,040-acre natural reserve, making it one of the most spectacular courses in the world. The fairways are beautifully lined with scores of Mojote and Cuba palms, as well as breathtaking views of the rocky, untouched coastline that meets the crystal blue Pacific.

The par 72 course is an accommodating 6,750 yards, which allows time to take in the beauty of the area. The longest hole, hole 11, is 547 yards, while the shortest, hole 4, is 127 yards. Eight of the course’s holes offer unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean. El Tamarindo is user-friendly for players of all levels, yet offers numerous challenges for experienced golfers.

Seldom does an architect have the opportunity to design a golf course on land that has such an abundance of natural features; a test that renowned golf course designer David Fleming has met beyond all expectations.

The greatest challenge of the design was not to overwork the property, but to work with what Mother Nature had already given. Where the course exits the jungle onto three breathtaking ocean front holes, more shots are taken with cameras than golf clubs. The ocean is seen from nine holes with spectacular beaches and crashing surf.
