Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit have some perfect areas where you can relax and let the culture, dress and personalities of the region pass by:

The Malecon:  The Malecon has always been the hub of social activity in Puerto Vallarta but with the new renovations now completed, there has never been a better time to spend time here.  Sunday afternoons are the best time to visit the Malecon to get a feel for Vallarta culture as local families spend the day strolling the walkway and buying snacks from vendors.

Playa Los Muertos:  Without doubt, this is the best beach destination for people watching in Puerto Vallarta.  Restaurants like El Dorado, La Palapa, Amapas Sunset and Lido Beach Club offer tables, lounge chairs and umbrellas right out on the beach so you can enjoy a meal or a cocktail while you watching the seaside action. 

Plaza Penisula Night Life:  During high season, the nightclubs on the Malecon will draw a crowd that is heavy with tourists.  If you want to experience a night out with the young and fabulous of Vallarta, head to Plaza Penisula located in the north section of the Hotel Zone.  Try the patio lounge at De Santos which is always filled with the glitterati of Puerto Vallarta, salsa dancing to a live band at the La Isla rooftop, or clubbing at the upscale local favorite Barra Bar.

The Polo Club in San Pancho:  Polo matches are every Saturday at 5pm at the Rancho La Patrona Polo Club in beautiful San Pancho, about 40 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta Airport.  Enjoy a fine dining experience from the club’s restaurant while watching the match and, of course, the other patrons who are generally some of the wealthiest in the area.  After dinner the club will offer entertainment such as a mariachi band and then dancing in the lounge until 1am.
