Hot Home Decor Trends for 2012

Tufted furniture is currently one of the hottest trends on the showroom floors.  Tufted headboards, sofas, ottomans and armchairs lend a classic sophistication to any room and can be easily incorporated into any design concept.

There is also a moment towards using lighter and less furniture in room design. Interior designers are showing more pared down rooms, forgoing heavy furniture or an abundance of accessories to let one or two elements take center stage.

There is also a return to floral prints for 2012.  To create a fresh, modern look with florals, they are best used sparingly, for instance as accent chair upholstery or with the use of accessories.  Another hot trend is the use of reclaimed materials, for example old doors repurposed into dining tables or using heritage flooring.
