Why Puerto Vallarta?

The beauty of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit

Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit are excellent locations to purchase real estate, not just because they're the top two markets in Mexico today, but also because they're close the U.S. and Canada. Puerto Vallarta still maintains its original appeal and the 'old world' feel; cobblestoned streets and its seawall from one end of town to the other, along which you can walk whenever you tire of driving, and get to most of its boutiques, restaurants and especially its 'mercado' or flea market.

Puerto Vallarta has retained it traditionally Mexican appeal; the plaza downtown and the mountain-side homes, the easy-to-reach beaches and their vendors—the kind of thing you will be hard-pressed to find in places like Cancun or Los Cabos, which are predominantly designed for tourists with no other interest than having some temporary fun in the sun before heading back home. Riviera Nayarit, only 45 minutes north of Vallarta, made up of small, seaside villages nestled between the Pacific and the Sierra Madres, near Nuevo Vallarta and with Wal-Mart's and other American-style amenities close at hand, will provide you with whatever you might need.

Apart from these things, Banderas Bay (the seventh largest bay in the world) has good sailing winds year-round, three major marinas, excellent surfing, fishing, diving and snorkeling off almost all of its beaches. The area has ten golf courses to offer as well. The biggest appeal of this area of Mexico is its people. Almost everyone is bilingual, friendly, and helpful with information if you should need it, and accommodating. They are probably the number one reason that Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit has become the best retirement option for Americans and Canadians, and the attraction of real estate, when considering buying a second home

How to choose the right retirement destination

Make a list of the things you want most from your second home/place of retirement. Do you want to be close to town or would you like to get away from it all? Depending on your personality, you can find whatever makes you most comfortable. Many people are choosing developments for the safety and security they provide, and the friendly neighbours around them. You might, however, feel better with some silence and solitude. Maybe a mountain hideaway is what you have in mind?

There are plenty of those still available. Do you want a condo, villa or large home? You only have to make up your mind and Luxury Beach will provide you with what it is you decide on.

If amenities like shopping, golf, or proximity to the ocean are what you want, Luxury Beach will be happy to investigate the areas that provide these things and advise you.

Do you want a fabulous view? Vallarta is blessed with views of the Pacific, the Sierras, or jungles. If you want two or more of such views Luxury y Beach will find it for you. New developments on Vallarta's south shore, Amapas, Horizon, Garza Blanca and Molino de Agua, are perfectly located and offer some of the most spectacular panoramic views with easy access to the city center and the Zona Romantica (Romantic Zone) of Olas Altas.

If what you need is a condo and you wonder which floor is best, why not speak with the people already living there and get their point of view, because all floors have their pros and cons. If you’ll be living there as a couple or as a whole family, there are developments that cater to both. Luxury Beach will help you find whichever suits your needs.

Deciding to relocate – whether permanently or seasonally – is a big decision, so many expats or snowbirds begin by simply trying out a variety of vacation rental properties in the most popular areas of Puerto Vallarta.

These include Conchas Chinas, Amapas and gringo Gulch to the center-south of the city, and the rapidly changing marina just north of the city center. Not far from the Puerto Vallarta International airport the small villages of Nuevo Vallarta, Litibu, Sayulita and San Pancho offer a more tranquil lifestyle when compared to the energy of Vallarta´s Historic Center.

The range of hacienda style luxury villas, ocean front condominiums, slick modern glass towers, epitomized by the recently developed Philippe Stark creation of Icon Vallarta and it’s neighbor to the south: Peninsula and Grand Venetian is overwhelming.

The recent US economy has made some of the most luxurious properties more accessible, though even without the recent stock market adjustment, Luxury Beach estimates that property values here (for square footage) compete well against Hawaii and Miami.

Vallarta is on the same longitude as Hawaii and much closer to all major USA and Canadian cities ranging from 3 hours from LA to approximately 5 hour from New York, Toronto and Chicago. The exchange rate also works favorably for Canadians and Americans seeking a Mexican beach resort town that offers the best of modern, world class amenities, some of the best beaches, adventure/eco sports and spectacular whale watching while still maintaining a rich, cultural heritage that makes Puerto Vallarta stand apart from many of its would be competitors.
