The Romantic Zone in Vallarta

One of the most charismatic areas in Puerto Vallarta, known not only for its hospitality and excellent gastronomy, but also for the combination of cobblestone streets, houses with red tiled roofs, locals sitting on their sidewalks and balconies adorned with pink or white bougainvillea.

The Romantic Zone will surprise you with the contrast between the pleasant and “romantic” atmosphere of a small Mexican town along with the friendliness of its people, as well as modern bars and restaurants located in traditional buildings.

The area has become famous over the years for its gastronomic diversity, offering very different cuisines to suit every taste and budget, from the famous and traditional tacos al pastor and quesadillas, to high quality Mexican food to traditional Swiss Meat Fondue. A variety of restaurants offering European cuisines like German, Swedish, Swiss, Austrian, Greek and Italian compliment the classic Mexican and American restaurants found in the area.

An additional attraction in this area is Los Muertos beach. The site according to legend, get its name “Beach of the Dead” from a battle between natives and smugglers of gold and silver, after which bodies remained strewn on the beach.

World-renowned art galleries, featuring works of both national and international artists from Huichol art and pottery to modern Mexican Art, jewelries and craft shops attract thousands of visitors every year.
