Puerto Vallarta launches TV channel C7

The main mission of this television channel will be to broadcast all the events of the XVI Pan American Games 2011, with a total coverage of 750 hours. Additionally, one of the highlights is the transmission of the cultural program "Taste of Life", a local production and led by chef Nacho Cadena, showing the attractions of this tourist destination in over 42 countries.

The radio and TV system of Jalisco started on January 16, 1991, with the minimal equipment needed and a small production team. The first program on the air was "Actualidad noticiosa", an informative program announcing the start of "Desert Storm", a name given to the invasion of George Bush (father) to Iraq.

The Radio, Television, Film and Video System of Jalisco (SJRTV) was formed as the state started its participation in television and existing radio stations.

Now, 20 years later, the SJRTV launches a new television signal in Puerto Vallarta, which will be transmitted on the open signal of channel 13 and can be seen both in Banderas Bay and in the surrounding towns.

Culture is the main topic, as it is a work that transcends and leaves trace. Its diffusion is SJRTV number one priority.

The productions offered are highly qualitative, as they started producing HD series already two years ago. The programs are not only seen in Jalisco, but also in Latin American countries generating excellent ratings. In the U.S., the signal is transmitted by “Mexicanal” and recently, the open digital broadcast reaches more than ten cities including Los Angeles, Dallas, Las Vegas, among others. That's C7, a channel of international quality with more than ten million viewers.

All these reasons have helped to define C7 as “The cable for those without cable” because of the variety and quality of its content.

In an effort to transmit programs of both cultural and educational content, but above all, of good quality, the Radio and TV System of Jalisco started the first TV channel in Puerto Vallarta - channel C7.

Some people in Puerto Vallarta will be able to enjoy these broadcasts and also have free access to the coverage of the Pan American Games. In the future, Channel C7 promises to diversify the content by producing its own programming.
