Puerto Vallarta Golf

Marina Vallarta Golf Club, with 18 championship holes, was designed by the American architect, Joe Finger. Its magnificent view of Banderas Bay and the natural obstacles such as palms, tropical plants and natural lagoons along with abundant wildlife and water fountains, have made it increasingly popular in the last few years.

The Marina Vallarta Golf Club has twice been the site of the Governor’s Cup Pro/Am Tournament as well as other important golfing events. Its natural landscape is a layout designed to test anyone's golfing ability. A majestic view of the Pacific Ocean's coastline, coupled with the lush tropical vegetation often defy golfers' perception of distances and will test their ability to keep their minds on the game. Postcard perfect obstacles include waterfalls, coconut palms and a lagoon filled with indigenous wildlife.

White herons, multi-colored ducks, Mexican sand cranes and 16-foot long alligators all call Marina Vallarta their home! They will leave an unforgettable imprint in the memory in anyone who tees it up here. So start warming up those muscles to take your best swing at Puerto Vallarta’s golf courses.

While most tourists visit Puerto Vallarta to experience the pristine beaches, lavish hotels and unmatched natural beauty, a more creative allure lays just beneath the surface. Though Puerto Vallarta is far from a sprawling city, the community houses more galleries than any Mexican destination outside the capital. Over the years artists and aficionados have flocked to the majestic landscape and the results can be seen throughout the city’s galleries – from paintings, sculptures and ceramics to jewelry, literature and fashion.

Vallarta is home to several golf courses with Vista Vallarta Golf Club ranking among the standouts. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf, these two courses are distinct and fascinating. Nicklaus' 18-hole course has the highest elevation at the club, allowing for impressive views of Puerto Vallarta below. Grassy rolling hills and numerous palm trees as well as arroyos complete this beautiful course. Weiskopf's par 72 course measures 6,993 yards and is characterized by thick jungle, deep ravines and rapidly flowing creeks. Rental clubs and golf lessons are available.
