Sharing Holiday Cheer: Charities in Banderas Bay

The Christmas spirit is all about giving and there are some wonderful charities operating throughout Banderas Bay that can really use your support, particularly at this special time of year.

Corazon de Nina is a shelter for girls who have been removed from their homes where they suffered severe neglect and abuse.  Currently 13 girls from the ages of 9 to 21 live at Corazon de Nina, which strives to create a caring and loving home for these young women, with education, health care, counseling and support.  At this particular time, the shelter is building a second floor in an effort to provide more sleeping accommodations (currently the girls all sleep in one large room) and they are seeking assistance in raising funds to pay for builders and materials.

Toys for Tots is now in its 13^th year of bringing smiles to underprivileged children throughout the Banderas Bay region.  For hundreds of children, receiving a toy for the holidays is not an economic possibility as many poor families in the region survive on monthly incomes of less than $200 USD per month.  Your donation of a new toy or game is truly a special gift for these struggling families and children.
