Your Consulate in Banderas Bay, Part I

It’s important for travelers to understand the importance of their consulate when travelling.  And both American and Canadian visitors to Banderas Bay have consular offices open to serve them while visiting Mexico.  

The Canadian Consulate in located in Plaza Peninsula in the Hotel Zone of Puerto Vallarta, and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 1:00pm and closed on Canadian and Mexican statutory holidays.  The Canadian Consulate in Puerto Vallarta has a jurisdiction along the coast of Jalisco and in the states of Nayarit and Colima, and service at the Canadian Consulate is available in English, French and Spanish.

The American Consulate in located in Paradise Plaza in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 12:30pm with the exception of American and Mexican national holidays.  The U. S Consular Agency in Vallarta serves the Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit areas with service offered in English and Spanish.

Both consulates are set up to assist travelers and residents from their respective countries with services including:  passport applications, reports of births abroad, notarial services, emergency services, and general assistance and recommendations in case of detention, medical need or death.
