Interacting with Banderas Bay Wildlife

And during your stay in Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Nayarit you can take part in sea turtle release programs, swimming with dolphins, or whale-watching.

Sea turtle release programs in Banderas Bay are helping baby sea turtles to increase their chances of survival while providing an amazing experience for tourists and residents of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.  Many hotels and residential developments, such as Icon Puerto Vallarta and Peninsula Puerto Vallarta, have their own sea turtle release programs which are open to resident participation.

During the summer and fall months you can help protect baby Olive Ridley sea turtles (Nayarit’s official mascot) as they return to the safe Pacific Ocean environment after ha hatching along many of the Riviera Nayarit Mexico beaches.

In Nuevo Vallarta, RivieraNayarit, you can visit Vallarta Adventures to spend an afternoon swimming with dolphins.  This amazing dolphin habitat has a fun, educational park where you can learn about these amazing creatures before jumping in the pool for a swim with the dolphins.

And the winter months in BanderasBay are an excellent time to for whale watching as Gray whales migrate through the Pacific.  Many boats in the Puerto Vallarta Marina or Paradise Marina in Nuevo Vallarta offer seasonal whale-watching tours.
